Trying to decide which skin lightening product to use can be a difficult under taking so we did one of our in-depth reviews, examining the ingredients, clinical research, side effects, and customer quality reviews. We also went through hundreds of user comments from various websites. We took all of the information and condensed to give you the highlights and lowlights of this product.
How the Product Works
Daggett & Ramsdell Skin Bleach Hand & Body formula helps lighten hyper-pigmentation and discolorations. It gradually lightens freckles, age spots, blemishes and blotches. It nourishes your skin with a blend of vitamins and emollients. It is a moisturizing, non-irritating formula that is gentle to the skin.
The directions say to apply a thin layer of the cream on the affected area twice daily, or use as directed by a doctor. If there is no sign of improvement after three months of treatment, you should discontinue using the product. This cream is not as effective on really dark skin.
- Product Speed
- Long Term Results
Our advice is to save your money and buy another cream. This lightening product does not lighten and brighten the skin, but it does cause potential irritation.
Side Effects – Possible Irritants
Daggett & Ramsdell contains hydroquinone, which may cause serious allergic reactions, including rash, itching/swelling (face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness and trouble breathing. A few reviews that we were able to find online claimed that users also suffered from dermatitis and breakouts. This product is not a good match for people who have sensitive skin.
Texture – Leaves a Residue
This product goes on a little thicker than other creams, but doesn’t leave a heavy residue. A couple of reviews mentioned that they developed a slight rash after about a week. The other complaint was that it comes in a rather small container that finishes quickly. It’s easy to apply makeup or a concealer once the cream has soaked into the skin.
After using Daggett & Ramsdell for about a week or two, there was very little difference in the look or tone of the skin. It also contains hydroquinone, which is known to cause both minor and serious side effects such as redness, stinging, blackening of the skin and even blistering. Another complaint was that it tends to cause breakouts, especially for people who have acne prone skin. Make sure to use a very high SPF on your skin when using this product.
The Bottom Line
Our advice is to save your money and buy another cream. This lightening product does not lighten and brighten the skin, but it does cause potential irritation. After using it for a little over a week, we found very little change in the overall look of the skin. Acne marks and scarring from the sun remained. This product contains hydroquinone, which has a list of possible side effects such as redness, stinging and discoloration. Overall, we would not recommend buying this product.
